David Brightling was an avid formula one race fan who didn’t miss a race. The weather is perfect for a race with cloudless skies and the clear and bright sunshine elucidating the cheerfulness of the moment. David wore a red Ferrari baseball cap and carried popcorn to his seat. He was seated next to an attractive blonde girl whom David pretended to not look at. The crowd around him suddenly roared in wild applause as the Formula One race cars entered the circuit and took their positions.
David wolfed a handful of popcorn as the music played.
“It’s a good day today. Whoooo!” shouted David.
The blonde beside him asked him for the time, “Hey, do you have the time?”
David lifted his left wrist to show off his Ferrari fake which informed the lady that it was 2:25.
“Awesome, thank you!” The girl said. “Ferrari fan huh?”
“Yeah, been one since I can’t remember when. Want some popcorn?” he handed the bucket to the blonde.
The woman grabbed a fistful. “Thanks.”
They were eagerly awaiting the race to begin.
When the girl suddenly said, “Hey look, something’s wrong.” Thick, black smoke was coming out from one of the vehicles. Then a helmeted figure came out of the smoking car. The driver ran as fast as he could, almost stumbling among the cars as he tried to make his way away from the race track.
Then a loud explosion shook the circuit. The bench where David and the blonde were seated at vibrated. The hot air blasted unto their faces and David covered his eyes with his arms. There was a collective gasp as they watched the car bounce from its position high up in the air and then back on the track. They watched as the emergency crew raced towards the incident.
